Short summary?

It’s a very clever mobile 360⁰ camera that’s placed in a classroom by a teacher. The teacher schedules an observation to take place of their lesson which is viewed live or later by an observer with web-based software.

You can then:

Model, remotely observe and reflect on teaching in any room in your school

What is IRIS Connect™?

IRIS Connect™ was developed as the result of detailed research undertaken at Universities in the UK and America into professional development techniques and emerging technologies. Studies showed that traditional methods of professional development often have little impact on the adoption of new practice and that mentoring and coaching utilising remote observation, the collection of observational data and time-linked commentaries greatly increases training efficiency. Here are 3 simple steps to how this works

1. Log in, Schedule and Observe

Users have their own secure online account which is protected by state of the art security measures and encryption. The system is permission based and only allows a connection to the camera if both parties have agreed to the observation using the scheduling tool. Connect to our web interface, view the classroom live and record the lesson whist collecting observational data. Use our in-ear coaching technology to provide immediate support to the teacher in the classroom.

2. Provide commentary and collect data

Create video, audio or text commentary which links to the timeline of the video to increase the immediacy of feedback. To save time when reviewing, navigate the recording by clicking on comments. Checklists and instruments enable you to gather observational data. They can be fully customised and shared online. Additional time linked comments and data collection tools can be added later over a recorded observation.

3. Review and Share

Keep track of your CPD history and review past observations using your online observation library. Share observations with individual IRIS Connect ™ users for review or post them to a group library as an example of best practice
